|
|
I currently have a Phillips MP3 player, black triangular looking device. I
listen to a radio show that is 4 hours long and I find the FF to be to slow
to get an hour into the show, so I found software to break the one big file
into smaller ones. The problem is that the player won't play them in the
right order. I have tried many things and can't get it to work the way I
want it to and am looking for a new player that will either FF through the
large file or play the other files in the correct order.
1gig model or larger will fit the bill as far as file size goes.
Thanks for any help, Rich |

Cowon's iAudio G3 has several ways to order the way files are
played, and that was the main reason I got it, as my Sandisk player
insisted on its own ordering, not mine. In addition, the G3 allows
you to modify the FForward/FRewind speed, which will allow you to
zip through large files *very* quickly. It's small, has a decent
screen, *many* bookmarks, that keep track of the position within the
tracks (about 20, but only one bookmark per file), allows any file
browser (such as Windows Explorer) to copy files to it - even works
with linux, and gets 50 hours of playing time from one AA battery.
I don't know if they're still available new. I got mine last year
from B&H (bhphotovideo.com), and they had 1GB and 2GB versions on
display.
I just checked their website and they now only list the 2GB
version. It's out of stock, but that's nothing new. It was
frequently out of stock last year when I was looking to get one. I
think that the current price ($99.95) has dropped about $10 to $15
from last year's price. If the G3 interests you, check B&H's
listing, which provides a fair amount of information on the Features
and Specification tabs. For even more information, you can download
the manual from Cowon's website :
